Xi’an International University is the first private university to enroll overseas students in Shaanxi Province. To date, Chinese international education has been offered here for overseas students for more that 10 years, and the number is rising year by year. Over the past 10 years, our university has taken in a large number of students from America, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Finland, Australia, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Mongolia, Bermuda, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Zimbabwe. In recent years, more than 200 students from South Korea, America, France, Japan, Italy and Belgium come here and learn Chinese each year.
So far, the International Center of Cooperation and Exchange of Xi’an International University has already built up a friendly and cooperative relationship with more than 50 universities and educational organizations from America, UK, Canada, Australia, France, Switzerland, Japan, South Korea and New Zealand. Importantly, thousands of educational scholars, researchers from the international community have been attracted here and deliver lectures for our students. Besides, with the help of the International Center of XAIU, hundreds of students from our university have the chance to further their study in the developed countries, and some of them have already been back home and are playing important roles in their positions, while others just directly go to society and make their own contribution to the exchange between China and the rest of the world.
XAIU has done very well in the international exchange and cooperation over the years, and it has been the top of the list of private universities in Shaanxi Province. The programs for international exchange and cooperation consist of the following 6 aspects:
1.Top teachers of Chinese
All the teachers are very professional. They are at least lecturers and some of them are associate professors, having the Master Degrees of Chinese Linguistics and Literature, Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics and 5—10 years working experience of teaching Chinese for overseas students. Over the years, they’ve been favorably noticed for their hard-working, diligence and great responsibility among those overseas students.
2.Exclusive training courses for HSK
HSK regular courses and one-on-one classes with a private teacher have been offered in each semester. For years, the passing rate for HSK Grade 4 is up to over 90%, HSK Grade 5 up to around 80%, HSK Grade 6 up to around 50%. The passing rate for HSK Oral Test(mid-level) is up to 80%, Oral Test(high-level) up to 40%. All the achievements are attributed to the consistent HSK regular teaching of our university.
3.Wonderful teaching facilities and atmosphere
Firstly, our university focuses on small class teaching, which offers the chances for teachers to take the learning of each student into consideration and the opportunities for students to take the advice and guidance of the teachers in the process o learning. The quality of teaching service has been complimented by the overseas students for years. Meanwhile, in Xi’an, XAIU has earned great reputation for Chinese teaching.
Secondly, our university has such facilities as the most modern audio classrooms, multi-media classrooms, touchable and electronic copy boards for teaching. Every classroom is installed with air-conditioners and heating system, which offers a very comfortable learning environment.
4.Colorful extracurricular activities
Outseeing activities are offered for overseas students in each semester. For example, they have the opportunity to see Terro Cotta Warriors, Famen Temple, Yuan Village and have an experience of the modern village life in Shaanxi.
Students have also been organized to participate in the annual Chinese Recitation Contest sponsored by Shaanxi Overseas Students Committee and achieved great success. At the same time, students participate in other extracurricular activities, such as the Party for Chinese and Overseas Students, the sports meeting and football matches, for the purpose of making their life more colorful.
In order to make overseas students have a deeper understanding of Chinese culture, especially the culture of Xi’an, our university also organize the overseas students to learn how to cook Chinese cuisine, make dumplings, and appreciate the Chinese tea culture.

5.Excellent service for living
Students’ dormitories consist of single rooms and double rooms. For each room is equipped with its furniture and home appliances, which is very convenient for students to live. So far, there’s nothing like these facilities and living condition in other universities in Xi’an.

Besides, the school bus is very convenient for overseas students to take for the Chinese class.
