The first session of the first meeting of the land port branch of
Chinese Port Association was held in Xi’an on May 16th , 2014,
which means that with forging league of the inland ports, the land
port branch would provide our inland ports with powerful organization,
talent and theory guarantee. Xi’an International University, as one of
the universities which puts much emphasis on the cultivationof logistics
talents for Shaan’xi inland port development, sponsored this meeting
and became an important member of the land port branch of Chinese
Port Association.
The inland port has become the important vehicle and driver for the
development of China’s export-oriented economy and China’s mainland
areas. To date, almost more than 70 cities nationwide are making plans
for the construction of the international land ports. Some important
organizations of the branch have been set up in XAIU, one of the sponsors
of this meeting. In addition, XAIU also has undertaken the catalogue of the
land port meeting—Chinese Land Port.
The land port branch of Chinese Port Association has given ideas and
suggestions to the development of inland ports and built a platform for
communication, cooperation and seeking development of China’s inland
ports which are being planned and constructed.
Logistics Management, as one of the leading majors set up by XAIU,
is now the key one. In recent two years, XAIU has been increasing its
cooperation with Shanghai Maritime University (SMU), the cradle of
“ advanced shipping and logistics talents” and signed an agreement
for seeking the construction of the inland port logistics and the
cultivation of talents. Besides, XAIU has been working with Xi’an
International Logistics Park for the cultivation of application-oriented
talents.
Xu Dehong, the chairman of the Logistics School of XAIU,
highlights that XAIU, as the pioneering institution of the concept
of international land ports, now possesses the only research
center of inland port economy and logistics nationwide and the
first experiment center of the land port logistics operation. The
school of logistics affiliated to XAIU now is the only one that
has been founded in the west of China. The School has the
advantages of pioneering, research and platform. The integration
of production and learning is the only way leading to the cultivation
of application-oriented talents. In addition, XAIU also regards it
as an important mission to promote the development of the local
economy.
