The annual meeting of Chinese educators in 2013, accompanying with the awarding ceremony of China’s Education, sponsored by China Internet News Center (China Network) , was held at Beijing’s Diaoyutai State Hotel on Dec. 12, 2013.
Educators, presidents, teachers and media editors assembled here from all over the country to look back on the development of Chinese education in 2013. This meeting probed deeply enough into the existing problems and the promising prospects of the development of China’s education with an emphasis on paying respect to reformers and with an focus on deepening the comprehensive reform in education circle stipulated in decisions made by the Third Plenary Session of the Eighteenth Central Committee. Here are some experts attending the meeting: Zhang Tianbao, the former vice-deputy of the Department of Education, Zhong Binglin, the chairman of the Chinese Society Of Education (CSE), Zhu Yongxin, a member of the CPPCC National Committee and the vice president of the Democratic Progressive Party, together with Tang Min, the counselor of the State Council. This campaign offered some constructive and feasible suggestions and new ideas of reform for China’s education for its long run.
This annual meeting, in a spirit of paying respect to educators, has conferred a number of people who devoted themselves into China’s reform of education with great honor, including Zhou Yuanqing, the former president of Tsing Hua University who is famous for his unique style of reform, Yang Shuzi, an academician from Chinese Academy of Science, Cui Yongyuan, an CCTV anchor. Among them, Huang Teng, the president of Xi’an International University, has won the honor of “China’s Outstanding Figure for Education”.
In honor of our outstanding achievements made in pioneering education, the host of this meeting conferred our university as the most demonstrative private university in terms of pioneering education.
The awarding ceremony for China’s Best Education has been successfully held for twice. Last year, president Huang Teng, together with his counterparts, Zhou Qifeng, the president of Peking University, Zhu Qingshi, the president of South University of Science and Technology of China, Li Peigen, the president of Huazhong University of Science & Technology, Yang Yuliang, the president of Fudan University, won the honor of “Top President in China”.
